Today I finally finished this handspun Kællingesjal aka a Danish Tie shawl and using Lonna Cunningham's pattern called "Heart's Ease" in her book "Just Keep Knitting". www.goodreads.com/book/show/13489358-just-keep-knittingBased on an ancient design, the tie-shawl is designed so that the arms are free for easy movement but the back, shoulders and chest are covered for warmth and comfort. I spun all the wool for the yarns, dyed many, and finally - FINALLY finished it. Never mind the mismatching borders, and never mind that I got off on the "spine", so it is off kilter. Hee hee. It's all part of accepting who we are, what we are, and our silly imperfections. I can live with it. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Well, there was a change in plans at the last minute for my son's birthday. I made the soldier that I shared the link for and that was the creepiest looking thing I've ever made. lol And the tank just didn't work. The pieces didn't match up correctly for me to assemble it and I didn't have the time to try and figure out the changes to the pattern to make it work. So instead he got a boy version of the doll I made for my friend's daughter. And his pajama pillow is a pig in a blanket (pigs are his favorite animal right now). The camouflage guy looks pretty good sitting in his room since it's decorated in all camouflage, but the pig looks a little out of place. lol Sorry that the pics aren't the best quality, they were taken with my cell phone.

I am a multi-crafter, and recently discovered a new to me crochet stitch...crocodile stitch. I loved that stitch, but don't care for sc, hdc, or dc ground. Don't really like crochet "rib" either. Sooo I decided to try combining what I liked about knitting and what I liked about crocheting and I now have two patterns. The first design is fingerless gloves, and the second is a stocking cap.
I have pictures over on fromthefold.forumchitchat.com
