I saw someone wanting to use up walnuts and I had a few ideas of how I use them. There is a tea sandwich recipe I liked. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/walnut-cream-cheese-finger-sandwichesI've seen and had these sandwiches and they are good. I like a combination of walnuts and black olives with cream cheese. Alternate the black olives with green olives. Alternate using thin sliced white and pumpernickel bread for a great spread. Candied walnuts, these are irresistible. I add a pinch of salt to get a salty sweet flavor. natashaskitchen.com/2014/01/11/5-minute-candied-walnuts/And there is a cold salad, with carrots and apples and walnuts and raisins tossed together with a mayonnaise type dressing. This one doesn't have shredded carrots but is similar. www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/waldorf-salad-recipe2-2008782And lastly if you really like the taste of walnuts, and I do, you can put them in the food processor with some honey, maybe some butter, and use it as a spread on toast or muffins or topping off pancakes or waffles. (if you like the texture, it is grainy, just refrigerate it, if you want it to be smoother, cook it carefully in a saucepan and it will get smoother and more runny)
