I was given my mother's jenome sewing machine, and desperately need a manual. Can I look it up by the serial number? I am unsure of the model. Thank you in advance for any tips!

My primary machine is a newish Janome and the model number is embossed on the front of the machine. Not sure if that is the case for older models. There are several websites where you can download vintage sewing machine manuals, for a price of course. If it were me I would contact your local sewing machine repair shop, they are few and far between now though, and they should be know where to get manuals or make a copy of one they have on hand. I did that for one of my grandmother's machines.

Manuals by model number janome.com/en/support/manuals/manuals by model number of retired machines janome.com/en/support/retired-machine-manuals/Generally the serial number will not help you find the model number. Can you open some of the manuals and find one that is most similar to your machine? Then you would know the model number. Post a picture of it? If you look really hard and you can't find the model number in any manner, PM me the picture and serial number and I'll send it to a woman that knows more about machines than most of us. If she has time, she might help.
