It has been a cool wet April. The grass is green, green, green! We finally got our lawn mowed yesterday. Temps are supposed to cool off this coming week.

We seem to be stuck in the monsoon season here ... everything squishes when you walk. I think I may have to turn our field into a rice paddy ...

It was raining for several hours - really, I was happy to see the rain. We've been awfully dry this year so far. Now it's...snowing. Big, huge, wet snowflakes. Not sticking to anything, thanks to the 70 degree weather of the past week. Big old snowflakes are pretty in December. In late April? I'm over it.
Change back to rain...pretty please?

Over the last 4-5 months we just lack sunshine. I think in December we literally had two sunny days. I want the sun!!!

Rain, rain, rain! I'm tired of the rain. Saturday was really nice and we spent all day outside trying to get things done before it started raining again yesterday.

Sunny, warm here. Well, hot yesterday, it hit 90F. But mornings it's still up and down, hitting anywhere between 37 and 45. Warms up fast though.

We've had lots of rain the last two weeks, and severe weather this weekend, but it looks like it's going to be sunny and pleasant temperatures for most of this week, so hopefully everything can dry out some.

Weather guessers say 79 today, cool off and 59 by Wednesday. Working on the new cabin, too hot. Really not too hot, just too hot, too quick....James

Rain/thunderstorms overnight, sunny today with a chance of popup storms. We've had a lot of rain. Everything is so green it hurts your eyes! Cooling down this week...nice weather to work in.

Lots of rain last night, but today has been beautiful. High 70's and sunny. But we are expecting thunderstorms, and are under a tornado watch.

Very dry April here. We finally had a good rainy day today, we got 1" according to my rain gauge. The temps have been cooler than usual too, everything is behind. We will catch up soon and we will be complaining about how hot and humid it is.

I'm pretty quiet over at the other place.
Susannah, the timing of your rain then change to snow is exactly how it went here yesterday and I'm in northern WI, too. This morning the snow is stuck to the deck, not much but it's white and unwelcome. This area had 14 inches of snow the week after Easter, in time to welcome some friends from Oklahoma back to the northwoods.
The gs won't say the 's' word so when the white stuff comes down he says it's 'essing'.

It is supposed to rain all week. We still have snow at our property where we are going to build our house and about 3 feet of mud in some places. I can't wait for things to dry up so we can get started on our perk test.

The deck was covered with snow this morning, same with the grassy surfaces. Everything's pretty much melted, although the snow continues. Dh is really ramping up the complaining today. I just remind him that this is better than the drought of not too many years back. At least the lake levels have been good the past couple years.
I'd still rather see rain, please! And "normal" temperatures...whatever those might be.

Rainy, cool and W I N D Y here. I wouldn't mind it, if the wind would slow down a bit. Sounds like a tornado out there!

I have lived here 20+ years and this is the first true spring I can recall. Usually we go from freezing to oh my it is HOT! It usually takes about a week. This weather is lovely!

Been warm enough my plum tree is blooming, one of my pear trees is loaded with blooms, one of the Apple trees has several buds getting ready to bloom. So, of course, we have a good chance of frost the next two mornings....

Snow, snow, go away - and don't come back at least until November, please!
Yes, it's snowing again today. Sigh.

Got real windy last night and the power went out. Got called in to man a generator for the water plant. Power came back on at 9:45. Checked at the house we are building in town to make sure the tarps were holding. No rain but it felt like it could. Got out here at 7:30, removed the tarps, made sure everything is square, waiting on the trusses now, was supposed to be here at 10:00. Calm and cloudy, a little cool but nice for working in a T-shirt, 45 maybe. Oops, the truck is here, gotta' go....James

We have been having lovely weather, with some rain. When I look out my window at our riverfront, I am reminded of the title of the Richard Llewellyn novel, "How Green Was My Valley."

It's been dry and sunny for the most part here. We never did get a real winter. It is going to rain this week though, and for once no one is complaining. We really need the rain. The snowpack is only about 22% of normal. Going to make for a very dry summer, we are officially having a drought. First time I can remember that happening.

Screwy weather. I was down in Texas last week and they are well into "summer" weather. Here it was 53 degrees this morning and only 57 an hour ago.

It's been sunny this week - and seasonal. No rain in the forecast for the week. Feast or famine with regard to precipitation. Wet most of last week, dry this one. Been changing every other week all spring.

Lots of rain and the temps are staying cool. In fact, we are supposed to go down into the 40s Friday night. That is almost unheard of this time of year for us in the deep south. That is ok with me though, since my lettuce will last a little longer. Blessings, Kat
