28 now at 11pm. We're surrounded by orchards (mostly cherry and apple). Sure hope buds won't be damaged by low temps.

The fruit trees are in full bloom here too. Our average last day of frost is May 10th. I hope the weather stays warm but it may not. I lost my garden June 17th one year to 10 inches of snow...........................

Think it must have been earlier than 07. We we are dry, dry dry. Looks like a bad fire season. ?

Think it must have been earlier than 07. We we are dry, dry dry. Looks like a bad fire season. ? I don't remember the year, maybe 2000? We've been here for 23 years, We have had at least a flurry of snow every month but July. The day it killed my garden I was in Spokane and it was raining hard. We are about a 1000 feet above the elevation of the city and we didn't have snow until I got almost home. Our road climbs 800 feet or so in three miles, I had no idea it was snowing until then. I was not happy! I'm very worried about fire season. It could be really bad, with the low snow pack and lack of rain. there has been a lot of beetle kill on our mountains as well. The only helpful thing is the amount of logging done in the last couple of years. When we moved up here I wanted to keep most of the trees. Having seen what fire can do, I'm glad to see logging taking place. Not clear cutting, but real thinning. It also makes much better habitat for birds and animals.

I don't think it got cold enough to harm them too bad. I had 35 one night & 34 the next. Patchy frost, but the trees didn't look like they got hit too bad. Time will tell.

We had a 30 minute hail storm last year that damaged the fruit it didn't knock off the trees. I would like some fruit this year!
