I have 6 hens (hopefully) 2 barred rocks 2 silver lace wyandottes 2 easter eggers, 1 blonde, 1 chipmunk color They are about 15-17 days old. Forgot to ask their exact birthdays. Been with me since April 11th. Can y'all help me with a couple questions please? Food? Til now, they have only had feed and I give them a little dash of sand here and there to go find. Is there an age too young to give them foraging stuff? I have endless deadnettle, cleavers (?) not sure but the weed from hades that sort of vines and has hairies and clings to you, clover, etc. Is there anything I could NOT give them? I am also totally encased in those dang green inch worms that drop from the trees and hang from invisible webbing, it curtains my whole front porch I would love to feed them some of those! Hen for sure? One of the silver lace is the runt, but just as active as everyone else. Actually was also the first one I saw do the scratchin dance. LOL The brown EE is the hunk! Everyone is active and seeming normal. But is there an age where I can guarantee they are hens by the way they look? and is it normal for them to vary a little in size? I can't believe how they grow. When I looked at the calendar to make this post, I was shocked it hasn't been longer! I had to use youtube to follow washing bootie directions the first night for pasty butt on the 2 barred rocks. Success, thank goodness. No troubles since then. I appreciate any helps and do/don'ts on the weeds and stuff.

They can start eating most anything now as long as they still have access to a high protein grain feed for a few more weeks to promote growth.
If they have access to the ground they will get all the grit they need to survive
Size variation is normal, just like people
You'll probably know the gender by 12-16 weeks
