until their chicks are gone! I came home with 48 Cornish Cross for $1 each. They are already about 2 weeks old. I also got 10 more ducks for $2 each. They are also about 2 weeks old. Nothing like letting them feed them for 2 weeks & then getting them for less than half price!

Do you REALLY think you can hold out that long? REALLY? Great deal Wendy! I wish I could do what you do but I already have 4 assorted coops going...Hubby refuses to build anymore-I guess maybe it is for the best. I love hearing about what you are doing though!

Wow Wendy! If I don't get to the TSC when the chicks come in I won't get any.

They were not real happy at TSC. This was supposed to be the last week for their chicks/ducks. For some reason another shipment came. I could have brought home a lot more than I did, but I am seriously out of room. I have almost 300 chicks & 49 ducks. I am working on some new tractors for the broilers to go in. I'll use my old ones for the ducks. Once the broilers are butchered I'll move the layers in the tractors until they are big enough to go in with the older layers.

Lol! Ah, a sister of like mind and nuttiness!! I just brought home 10 Guinea Keets from my local feed store...I had been avoiding them while I knew they had the Keets in on the first couple of days, but unfortunately when I finally had to go there for feed, they STILL had the Keets, and I just can't resist baby guineas:-) I don't even know for sure how many I have now, but I think it is 28. Eek!

Well, I am bummed out. We do not have TSC here, but DD and I took an impromptu road trip today- to North Dakota! Someone on one of my FB groups advertised that they had Buckeye chicks for sale, cheaper than the hatchery, and the cost to drive over there and back was less than what the hatchery will be charging for shipping- so, off we went. Wish we had stayed home- the guy's place was a disgusting mess, and some of his adult chickens did not look all that great. I decided right away not to buy any from him. BUT- on my way into town I spotted a TSC. Just had to stop, just in case they had some cheap deals on chicks, lol. Unfortunately, they had no chicks at all The salesman said they would be getting more on Monday, but would be sold out by Wednesday. Doesn't matter to me, anyway, because I am not driving almost 2 hours to go back there. Point is, you inspired me, Wndy, and as soon as I saw the TSC I thought of you and your chicks, lol.

Wendy, it's all your fault that I now have 6 little quacking fuzzballs in my living room! I did good when chick days first started and I didn't get any. Okay, so they didn't have the Pekin's or chicks I wanted that time, so it was easier to resist, but still.... I thought I was safe until I read this last night and just "had" to stop in today. I didn't get any chicks though, since I'm waiting on Southern States to call me on my order there.

I simply cannot go to Rural King or Farm and Fleet right now. Or if I do, I have to walk past the chicks with my fingers in my ears, stare at the floor while I walk fast saying LA LA LA LA LA LA LA.
I have enough chicks. I have room for a couple more, if you consider "room" to be places like the glove box of the car and the air vent of the dryer. Other than that, No. More. Space. For. Chicks.
*sniff*
