As many know, I love honey and always looking for bargains on good honey. Most local honey is going for $7 a pound. The orchard that I visit is around $5.50. The local stuff is good but not great. That from the orchard is sweeter and my favorite light honey. But that's not the score. We were shopping at Pick 'n Save (Kroger) and there was a bargain bin with 12-ounce Kroger brand bears for $2.49. Didn't need a calculator to recognize a bargain. Caught up with my wife and had 4 to put in the cart. Figures out to $3.32 per pound. 10% employee discount knocks it down to $2.99. We gave it the taste test and I'll be going back for a dozen more tomorrow. Then to WalMart to get some great dark honey that they have and do some blending to get the buckwheat taste into some of it.

My son received a pint jar of honey from beekeepers as a gift. He doesn't use much honey so gave it to me. It is so good. These beekeepers make the large Easter candles for the cathedral and their home parish of St. Adalbert's. Best honey I have ever had.
