The Denisovans and Neanderthals were living in the same cave, not necessarily at the same time (I doubt that the wives could have gotten along), as far back as 200,000 years ago.
They left a genetic mark on our species, Homo sapiens, particularly among indigenous populations in Papua New Guinea and Australia.
