Put herb stem in holes on inside of colander. Then pull stem thru to outside. What this will do is strip herb from stem. Colander I saw was plastic with decent size drainage holes.

I need to get a better colander, so I can pull kale and spinach through. I saw that too and it was ingenious. I showed it to my husband tonight, he thought it made a lot of sense too. We are using more greens lately.

feather, If you find anything that will pull kale threw, let me know. That would be useful.

Someone on here posted a kale stripper last year, a small kitchen device. I'm sure someone will come along and remind us what it is.
EDIT: I found it.

If anyone has tried kale stripper, let us know. Seems to me, holes would have to have very sharp edges; to cut kale leaves from stem.

I don't know. I don't cut the kale from the stem. I grab the stem in one hand and the leaves in the other, and pull them apart, stuffing the leaves in a zip lock gallon bag, tossing the stems.
The kale sure tastes good this time of year, no bitterness. I even put some on DH's salad and he said it was GOOD, who'd of thought that!
