Don't know what made me think of this, but many years ago, I knew a guy whos mother was a British WW2 war bride.
She brought with her a recipe for homemade tomato juice that was so much better than anything off the grocery shelf. I either never got, or lost the recipe so long ago I have no clue.
I'm sure there are a hundred recipes from very plain to Snappy Tom equal to the whole garden in a glass or 7 alarm explosive.
We don't have tomatoes for a project like this, but I would not mind making up a small batch just for 2 for a day.
Who has a recipe to share... ??

I cut up 1/2 Early Girl and 1/2 Roma type tomatoes in large pot, cook until tender and run through a cone sieve. Add 1 stalk of celery and 2TBS of chopped onion/pint of juice. Cook down to 1/2. Strain, add sea salt and black pepper to taste....James

I don't do a 'vegetable' juice, but I make homemade tomato juice. It's the only kind my family will drink. I literally just use leftover tomatoes from the garden.

Not even the lemon juice....I'm waiting for the canning police to show up any day!

That is exactily the way that I do it and have done it that way for over 50 years. Nothing but juice and salt.
