When did they start making LED fixtures? Did not the LED bulbs come first! Is there a ease of transfer between incandescent bulb holders and LED bulbs? Or will there be problems sooner or later?
I put a three light fixture in my kitchen 8 years ago. Maybe 4 years ago I changed bulbs to LED. This week one of the bulbs flickered, then yesterday one of them flashed on and off 4 times before remaining bright until I turned off several hours later. How do I I know if it is the fixture or the bulbs?

Trade out the LEDs for standard bulbs, and put the LEDs elsewhere in the house. Wait and watch what happens.

Have the same problem with ceiling light in master bedroom. Light fixture has been in use for 37 years, with the old heat producing bulbs. I am blaming the fixture, couldn't be the $1.00 bulb from the dollar store. LOL. Not had the problem for sometime now, so have not bothered to try different bulb. Will see what more use during winter hours does.

One thing I have found in older ceiling light fixtures is if the bulb socket it attached with a bent flat metal arm it will let the bulb vibrate with every foot step in the room.
In the basement ceiling fixtures and others that seem to have short bulb life, I use a "rough service" bulb. Seems to extend the bulb life.
