My strawberry patches are producing but the early one are few and far between. I was thinking about freezing the ones that I am not presently eating and then maybe dehydrating them when the bulk of them become ripe. Does anyone else do this?
I will still freeze a good portion of them, but I am curious if they can be frozen first and then when I have enough to fill nine trays if I can then dehydrate them.

I've done it. The grandkids think they are candy.

I've never dried strawberries that weren't frozen first. I was almost always drying store-bought frozen berries, as I had no fresh source.
This year I'm finally trying to grow them. I'm just getting enough to have a handful every few days, haven't frozen any yet.
