I'm looking for something to fit into these darling pots, very small terra cotta with terra cotta little bowls underneath. They are really small so I'd be worried of anything beyond a succulent but he wants something that flowers.
These are going to mr feather's grand child and he wants something flowering. We hope to start some plants in the little pots and include a little watering can.
He feels strongly that the terra cotta pots are very nostalgic to him as he was growing up and he'd like her to have them. She's a sweetheart and might like tending them.
If we start something now, they might be ready in a month or so for him to give to her.
Ideas of very small short plants that flower? Seeds are hard to come by when I looked around.

How about moss rose? AKA portulaca. It's pretty bulletproof, doesn't require constant tending and watering if she should forget and the flowers come in a multitude of colors, look like silk. The flowers last a couple of days then are replaced by others so display is always new.

Thanks! I made a list. I was surprised there were so many kinds and colors of primrose. I like the different kind of greenery on the moss rose. The Johnny Jump ups, great, those go on the list too. I'll be looking for seeds or plants and I'm hoping we'll luck out with some of them.
