I split the last 3 volunteer pumpkin things from last year's garden today, and baked them. They are not rotted or spotted, but the cooked flesh is not tasty. Are the seeds from these still OK to roast in the oven?

I don't know for sure but I'd taste them and see if they are bitter. Squash, pumpkins, and cucumbers can get bitter and it's best not to eat them. that comes from articles like this one: www.simplemost.com/toxic-squash-syndrome-facts/ there are lots of articles and studies about it. I'd just not eat them if they are bitter, personally. And I love them.

Use Less, The flesh of the not-pumpkin, what was the off taste to you? Did you find the seeds acceptable to eat? Did bitter come into it at all?
