Dehydrated wild "garlic chives" (best ever spice) and now KALE! Read you could do Kale and as you all may recall, I hate Kale but know it is very good for you.
Well here's hoping that by macerating, eviscerating, turning it to dust (!!!) I can add it more invisibly to all my cooking.
Will let you all know.

I did cabbage once...along with a corned beef jerky. The jerky was great (tasted like bacon)...the cabbage, well, just make sure you turn the machine off before opening. If not, my experience is that it will blow away!

Love sliced mushrooms in the dehydrator - when Aldi has them for <$1 I buy them up and dehydrate. Grow, pick and slice tomatoes, smoke and then dehydrate - crushed makes a great rub or add to meatloaf - yum.

I dehydrate full meals for backpacking, chili is one of my favorites! I also like to dehydrate mushrooms, onions and tomato sauce. I've been known to dehydrate the tomato skins that I remove when making tomato sauce or salsa. I either powder them to use as a flavor additive or season and dry in pieces as 'chips'. I love dehydrating stuff.

I see the Ramps are beginning to pop up in our woods ..... Hmmmm ! They should be good to put in the dehydrator! solargeek,My cousins pulverize their dehydrated kale and keep it in a “salt shaker” with large holes. They shake it over and into almost everything ...... not for the flavor .... more-so for the health benefits! vickinell, Where do you use the dehydrated ground meat? (Cooked before dehydrating?) .

Tallpines, I have an electric smoker and some disposable aluminum pans that I've poked pretty good sized holes into. I preheat the smoker to 250F and put in some wood (mesquite is good) that has been soaked in water. I lightly oil the pans, lay a single layer of sliced tomatoes and into the smoker for 30-40 minutes. Once they cool I put them in my dehydrator until they're dry through. I've stored them as slices and I've also dried them to crisp and put them through my spice grinder for smoked tomato powder.

Tallpines,I cook my grass fed ground meat in my crockpot. When it is done I put it in a stainless steel colinder and pour boiling water over it then pat it dry. Then I spread it on parchment paper I have placed on the dehydrated shelves. I use 2 for one pound of meat. I put the dehydrater on 155 for 8 hours. Then I place it in a jar.
