I'm looking for suggestions on what I should spend a gift card for JoAnn fabrics on. My boys gave it to me since they know I like to sew but they are out of their wheelhouse when it comes to needle arts.
I have all the basics for sewing and quilting, plus a few extras like rotary cutter, mats, rulers (12.5", 6.5", 4.5", 6"x24"). I have so much fabric that I'm leaning towards not buying any with the gift card.
Some ideas I'm tossing around are: --more sizes of quilting rulers (3.5", 2.5") --more batting for quilts --a quilting ruler stand (although I could make one if dh wouldn't freak out over me using his tools)
I'm sure there's lots of useful stuff that hasn't crossed my mind. What would you get?

I try to use their 50% coupon on 1 quilting ruler because they're pricey. I've always wondered about getting a bobbin winder so I could wind bobbins without unthreading my machine. Don't know how good they are. I never seem to have the right size hand sewing needles. Or maybe a bias tape maker?
Let us know what you decide.

Thread is always good also if you need a little something to use up the card.
If you are going into a store they also have a lot of decorating and craft items.
Have fun! And yes, do let us know what you get.

You could use it to buy a gift for another person.
They have some really cute pin cushions.
Or, a craft kit for another crafty person, or, a young person. Something to keep them busy during isolation .....

I like the idea of a quilting ruler stand. I have two of them and think they are great. Magnet for your pins. Needles for the machine- you are supposed to change them often. Little vacuum for getting lint out of the machine.

I would buy a lot of Patons sock yarn.

Thanks for all the ideas. I'm still thinking on them. Except, vickilynn , for the sock yarn as I have rather a sock yarn addiction and already have enough of that I could probably knit a pair and month and not run out of yarn until 2025. 😳. I'm going to restrict myself from buying anything knitting related this year. LOL
