DD had some stone delivered for the driveway and wonders if a tip is customary for the driver. Her SO thought the driver was waiting for something. Just dumped, no extra work involved. I'm going to be ordering mulch so would appreciate input.

I always tip, but the delivery guys always look confused, so they probably don't get many tips.

I don't tip for that sort of service. Don't know if that's right, but doesn't seem right in a delivery situation of stone. I've had delivery of stones and didn't tip.
If they had to carry the stones, that included more work than just dumping them, that would make me tip them.

Not me. Do you tip the propane delivery guy? Hopefully a qualified dump truck driver is getting well over $7.35 minimum wage, so not in the situation of waiter or pizza delivery folk at $2/hour. I 'tip' the guys I grab on the roadside and say 'hey would you dump your woodchips from your tree trimming on my property/ in my ROW?'
