"During 2004–2018, an average of 702 heat-related deaths (415 with heat as the underlying cause and 287 as a contributing cause) occurred in the United States annually. Natural heat exposure was a contributing cause of death attributed to certain chronic medical conditions, alcohol poisoning, and drug overdoses." www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6924a1.htmWhy does the CDC distinguish death from heat as the underlying cause from death from heat as the contributing cause but does not distinguish deaths where Covid 19 was the underlying cause or the contributing cause?

Looking better this morning, anyway. Temperature was 70 degrees when I got up at 4:30. They seem to be talking low 100’s today, much better. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel, yet. Lowest have seen in the morning for over a week now.
