Any one have hair sheep?
Kicking around the idea of running some hair sheep with my cattle or by themselves to help with brush and weed control. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

A friend switched from wool sheep to hair sheep. They require the same care as any other breed. I have only had wool sheep.
While cattle prefer grass, sheep prefer orbs ( broad leaves).
You can run them with your cattle, or after the cattle. Don't run them before the cattle as they clip the grass real short. They require rotational grazing to limit parasites. A couple of artemisia plants in the pasture will also aid in internal parasite control.
They can be trained to come to a whistle (use oats).

I am down to two Katahdin sheep. I really like the ones I have. Haltered trained them for easier care. Do not have cattle but have them in with the smaller goats.

A few things have changed since I made this post, the biggest is we moved in late October early November only about twenty miles. It was something that was there but no time line on when. I still want to get into hair sheep and I'm in a better place to do it now still have a few hurdles to get through before I can seriously pursue my plans.
