“Priming” the Gas Fire Place

Do we need to call a professional?

We were advised to turn on the gas fire place every few weeks during the summer months to ensure the gas line stayed primed.
Apparently it didn’t get done this past summer.

Now I would like to take the chill off of these extra cool fall mornings, but it’s not happening.

Any suggestions?

I don't know diddle about operating a gas fireplace.

But apparently, there is a procedure to prime them...
