Our neighbor's queen brought her kittens to live at our house when they were big enough to wean. One stayed here, the other went home with the mama. She's a very gentle kitten but one day, I guess I startled her when I picked her up. She nailed me with all 4 teeth. Three teeth just made punctures but the 4th on the back of my hand, nearly between my ring and pinkie fingers, was a long lateral tear. Bled like you wouldn't believe and that helped to flush the wound. Called my PCP to ask for antibiotics since cat mouths are notoriously germ-laden. Not enough, says her nurse. I was 5 years from my last tetanus shot but still had to go in for a tetanus shot too. So, yes, babies and kittens are cute but not when kitten claws and teeth are so close to baby faces. Nope. Baby needs to be taught to stroke kitten gently. Watch how the kitten takes a defensive posture on its back with claws extended.
Don't mean to be Debbie Downer.

I thought the same thing mogal, but thought maybe the cat was de-clawed. But that wouldnât have helped if it bit the cute little girl.
