Our garden is doing well this year with the exception of a hail storm a few nights ago that broke off some okra and cucumber plants.
BUT, We are now having a scourge of slugs eating leaves on cukes, lettuce, potatoes and strawberries etc.
We've had a lot of rain this year and the things are exploding in numbers and the chickens have no interest in eating the nasty things.
Besides stale beer traps, Does anyone have any tried and true slug killing tips?

Sluggo is your friend. This stuff works and is organic.

Slugs and snails are a duck's favorite foods.

I had that issue with my big container garden of lettuces - I sprinkled diatomaceous earth heavily underneath and around and haven't had a slug in a couple weeks. Not sure how long it will last, but at the first sign of slugs again, I'll get out the DT.

I've had great success with beer! Put a dish into the ground so the lip is about level with the soil. Add a can of beer and when you come out in the morning you will be amazed at how many dead, drowned slugs you'll have. I do this every year in my strawberry beds and it works like a charm. And I use old, skunky beer that my son is going to throw out so this cure is also free for me!
