I've really wanted German Bielefelder chickens since I read about them. I went to order them last night but changed my mind. They average $30 per female chick. I went with light Brahma instead. I only ordered a few. I am planning to let them hatch out a couple of clutches and that will take care of my flock. I'm still intrigued with the Bielefelders, though.

Where were they $30 a chick Maura?.I too was interested in Biefelders but decided on Naked Necks instead . I wanted to get an early start and so went with a hatchery a couple hours from me. I would have ordered from Sandhill Conservation but they won't start selling chicks until April. I am pretty sure they have Biefelders under $10

I wish this hatchery had shown up on my google search. $7.oo per chick! Well, they are sold out until May so I couldn't have gotten the Bielefelder anyway. I bookmarked the site. Thanks!

It is wonderful in more ways than one....if you garden... The seeds you order are abundantly packed. I have ordered from them ducks and a garden of seeds.

Really makes me wish I did not sell all my chickens a few years ago. Prices now are crazy, though I do understand why. I don't think anyone could of predicted how hard the poultry would be hit with the avian flu.
