So as a few might know, I used to raise chickens and some turkeys. Long story short I sold all my birds for awhile but started having a lot of snake issues. Seeing a baby copperhead in the house isn't a good thing. Found a couple of very, very nice turkey hens but could not find any Toms for sale in my area. Friend told me about this one. My husband did the honors of catching him and putting him in the carrier. If I had seen him in person I may of said no. He over all is pretty rough looking. Okay, so here is my questions. I have owned birds for a long time and I never had any black stuff like this Tom has, I do not know if it is damage from other Toms or ? Can anyone give me any ideas? Did deworm him and use a bug dust and he is away from my hens until I figure out what this is.

Handsome fella. Might be from frostbite and maybe that is why he overall looks a little rough?

Thank you for responding. I am hoping it is something like that. Am also hoping with a couple of dewormings and making sure he is dusted for bugs every few months and with good food, he will start to look better.
