The bill would allow the Southern Nevada Water Authority to shut off water use for single-family residential users that use more than half an acre-foot of water per year.

But if you had it before the enactment of the legislation, you can usually get grandfathered in. Not only that but often the water use right can be passed on with the property.

I guess drastic times call for drastic measures. Living in a desert people need to be extra cautious about their water useage.

I don't live in a desert, but a few more years of this and it will be. Our average annual rainfall used to be just a tad under 30".
