I've had goats on & off mostly on for 30 years. Haven't had babies born here for a few years. I have a boer 1st time bred. She doesn't act distress but she's leaking some milk. Should I milk her & save the colostrum for when she kids? I don't want to lose that liquid gold. Never had one do this before. I don't know when she's due cause she was housed with the Billy. I thought the last 2 weeks she looked any time. She's lost her liags. So should I milk her.

I have never milked my animals (sheep). I am pretty sure, though, that you shouldn't do it prior to birth. You might want to call a university with a vet school to ask someone.

Depending on tightness of the udder you might should and save the colostrum. Leaking can draw flies and contamination. When is she due?

I don't know when she's due. Ligs are gone & she had a little goo today. I've never milked when they are this close to kidding. I just didn't want the colostrum to all leak out. This is her 1st kidding. Another doe had triplets this morning. 2 bucks with tiny ears & a doe with long ears. Their sire was a lamancha. All are doing great.

Went to the barn at 4am. That doe finally had her babies. Twins. Doe & buck. She had them cleaned up & fed.

I thought she would have them long ago. They're good size.
