“In the path of totality only, when the moon is completely covering the sun, you will be able to see basically all the structure around the sun,” Korreck said.
The most obvious feature will probably be the presence of streamers, or bright streaks emanating from the sun. These are the solar wind, which is a stream of charged particles that is constantly blowing from the sun’s corona into space.

I was out on the deck last night, and walking around our yard. I kept looking up, for even a slight twinkling of a star, none. This cloudy weather has got to stop! I not only need the sun, but need to see the moon...I'm a moon lover

I just read our area schools and colleges and universities are closing that day. Folks are renting out space in driveways for RVs. Our county has only a few motels for all the extra people who are coming.
I sure wouldn’t bet on it being a sunny day, especially if this gray, foggy, dreary weather continues. The fog froze on everything this morning. At least that looks pretty for a while. All the trees and shrubs are lacey.

There is a 60% to 80% chance that the skies will be overcast for the eclipse at both Mason and Belton, Texas.
