They are trying to push us rather quickly into electric cars. I’d prefer we had the proper time to develop the technologies, make chargers available, and let prices get down to at least a mere unaffordable level instead the current stratospheric prices.
Yes, a host of challenges means get ready to be charged a fortune.

Last summer I bought a battery operated leaf blower. I use it a lot to blow off my porch and in the barn because it is a lot easier than sweeping. The brand was supposed to be one of the best and it worked really great. But as time has gone on the battery does not last nearly as long and even when fully charged the blower does not have the power it did originally. I feel like the batteries on cars will be similar. I don't think we are there with the technology- yet.

The most significant problem will be providing sufficient electrical power for the grid to supply the EVs by the tens of millions. The grid is barely capable to supply current power requirements for our country now.
If my truck runs out of gas, I can acquire a gallon & get to a gas station. It’s currently impossible to get a gallon of electrons to get an EV moving again. In an emergency, EVs will be nonfunctional & in the event of an EMP, they’ll be excellent road blocks but nothing more.

The batteries can't be recycled. The EVs will make a lot of junk other cars don't. So much trash.........

This whole thing is a disaster in the making. From the pollution created in mining the metals for the batteries, to the disposal of those same metals when the life of the battery is over. The charging station debacle is a whole nother thing. This is another way to bring people back under control. If we can't move about freely, we are like sitting ducks.
