It has been that hot twice before: in 1923 and in 1938. What caused it to be this hot the first two times?
September 20th was my mother's birthday. I guess she is a little over seven years old where she is now. Time is such an important part of our lives.

Today, Thursday, was 100 degrees.
Sunday I noticed the New Moon. New moons to me are harbingers of good things to come. This afternoon there were monarch butterflies in our yard.
I bet butterflies don't know what time it is. Or what day? Or even what year. And I bet they don't care.

That’s hot! We’re in the upper 50’s at night, 60’s during the day. I heard that this summer has been the hottest summer on record, since they’ve been keeping record in the 1940’s.
They’re calling for heavy rain, wind 50-60 MPH starting tonight and down to 50 starting tonight through Monday morning! We will be flooded here in our little village for sure.
I’m cleaning the house plants on the deck, got about half inside. Another 9 to get inside today. The Fica tree, Lemon tree so pretty and three spathiphyllums will need to stay out in the storm. I’m a tired girl.👧
Most all my houseplants are from the 1970’s and 1980’s and so are cherished by me.❤️

we're getting the same weather as Woodpecker. I've been loving this September cool down. We even put the windows back into the chicken coop yesterday. Unfortunately, my grandson's baptism is tomorrow and we'll all be outside under a big tent, but it will still be chilly.

bluemingidiot, I'm so sorry you guys down there are suffering so much. I don't think I could live somewhere that it got that hot regularly. While I know this is unusual for you, we only get an occasional day of 100 or higher, and we all feel like we're dying when it does happen. 79 days of that weather would make me move!

Have you ever been to the Texas Hill Country in spring?

Can't say that I have, though I understand it's quite a sight to see. But I would just melt with those temps.

Ice cream may melt, but it is still good.
On the other hand, "Northern states – including Utah, Delaware, Vermont, New Hampshire and Minnesota – ranked among the highest risk for melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer."

We made it to October! Thank you Jesus! High is only predicted to reach 89 degrees today. Even so, I will still be wearing white pants to church. Hopefully for the last time this year. Old age is just surviving one season at a time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9TByT3QlWc
