Hi everyone, was hoping someone could help me. Husband has arthritis everything hurts. He can only use a bar of soap till it gets about half the size then he can't hold onto it. He saves them for me & son. I just put a bunch in a knee high tie the end & use that to wash. Son won't touch that but will use the same bar if not in hose. Today I thought I'd be smart & grind some up with water to make liquid soap to put at sink dispenser. Well I cracked the bowl of my big ninja food prosser. Maybe it was cracked before I never put liquid in the big bowl before. Only use that one to grind ham. Any ideas how to make this liquid soap or into bigger bars again? I can just keep doing the knee high but havev3 big containers of small soap. Of course the ninja bowl has a the Crack & the washing machine died today. It was almost 5 years old. Did I mention I just went to semi retirement this month. From 40 or more hours a week to 2 days a week. Don't get my 1st SS check til 3rd week of Feb. Thanks for any suggestions.

I can’t tell you how to make your liquid soap solid again but I use solid soap and a brush for shaving. I have found that I can take all the remnants, melt them quickly in the microwave and remix them. They will cool into a normal hard soap again. Good luck on partial retirement! I started this a few months ago and am still getting use to it. I started social security about 2 years ago and am still in awe each month as it magically appears in my bank account. Good luck!

Thanks for reply. I would rather make the soap back into bars. Hope you like your retirement. Hubby has been retired for 10 years. He's 11 years older than me. I have so much to do around here that I have put off for years. I don't know if I'll ever get caught up.

I don't think there's an easy way to go back to a solid. I'd use my liquid for washing clothes, you, etc. and chalk it up to experience.
I saw Suave deodorant soap at Ollie's the other day, 2 bars for 60 cents. When you can buy bath soap that cheap, the jucice ain't worth the squeeze to try to make stuff solid again.

Vitamin C supplement, not the small amount in a multi vitamin, but more like the 1,000 mg size, can help with arthritis.
Some people have had great results by becoming a "carnivore". Eating only animal products.
You can also use the cooktop for your soap. Put a little water in a saucepan and when it gets hot add the soap.

Thanks, I will probably try melting on stove. Just cause we have so much of it I use to make goat soap years ago when I had dairy goats. Now I have meat goats but I don't milk them. Babies get that. It's not worth the work. Hubby does take vitamin c 2000 mg per day. So do I.

Old One, some people have had a turn about with arthritis by switching to a carnivore diet. No carbs, any meat you want. I found that making bone broth and having it twice a week relieved the stiffness before it got bad. My hands are so much more flexible now.

Thank you. I'll see if he'll do that. He eats meat not many carbs

Probiotics? They might help. Just a tablespoon of saurkrault? with a meal or two every day is supposed to be good for a lot of things.

Thank you. I'll see if he'll do that. He eats meat not many carbs Interesting. Quite the opposite for me. My arthritis was helped immensely by cutting out meat & dairy and going vegan.

I'll add to Bowdonkey's suggestion of sauerkraut. It has to be made the long way, not with vinegar.

Back to remanufacturing soap bars. We chop the remnants in a food processor, not a blender. Then, mix the chopped remnants with a little water in a glass bowl. Place the mixture into the the microwave to aid in dissolving the remnants. Note that the remnants will not completely dissolved. Lastly, pour the hot mixture into small plastic food storage tubs. Allow the soap to dry for at least a month or so. As it dries, it will pull away from the sides of the plastic tub.

I know people who can't eat beef because it flares up the arthritis. Then, there are people who eat nothing but beef because it's the one thing that doesn't flare up the arthritis.

Thank you cabin fever. Will try that tomorrow. I used the ninja food professional food processor. That's what cracked. We have a Ninja blender which is completely sealed when it's running. Since it cannot vent, it will explode if the contents inside get too hot.

Mine is a ninja professional processor. It has a big heavy duty base than different things to put on top. Blender, meat shredder Different blades you can put in. It's big. Don't know where hubby got it. Had it for maybe 20 years or longer. Didn't get around to soap today
