My seal-a-meal is giving me problems (not drawing a vacuum) and I'm looking for a replacement. Does anyone have one they would recommend? Pros and con's would be appreciated.

We had our Foodsaver V4880 for about 4 months now, and used probably 3 rolls of bags. Very satisfied with it, it's done everything we've asked of it. It has the built in accessory for sealing jars, but you have to buy the jar sealers separately. It will seal up to 11", which makes it more versatile than some of the others.

I have a V3247 Foodsaver, with the attachment for sealing jars. It holds an extra roll. Have had at least a couple years and works real good. I also have an older model that can be stored on it's side. Have never had any problems. I ordered both of these from QVC, when they were on specials.

That kinda depends on what you will be using it for, how often you plan to use it and whether or not there will be times that you will need to use it a lot in a short period of time.
I have three sealers: A CG-15 (link), which is a little bit on the aged side, but still works quite well; a Weston Pro-2300 (link), which was recently purchased to be a backup and then an eventual replacement for the CG-15; and a Foodsaver V2865 (link) that was given to me.
I like the CG-15 and the Weston because they are both beasts. They can seal just about anything that you can fit into a 15" wide bag. Having the two make it real easy to do mass sealing after having done a lot of butchering. Each one is supposed to be idle for at least 20 seconds between sealings to prevent over heating. I recommend longer times between sealings. Having two allows me to go from one to the other without having to watch the clock. Two deer worth of venison is packaged and sealed in less than half the time when having only one sealer.
The Foodsaver is smaller and much more convenient for quick, everyday things. It sits right there on the counter waiting for me to seal something. I can also use it to vacuum seal jars (I can also use the two other sealers to seal jars, but they are much larger than the Foodsaver and do not conveniently sit on the counter.
So what do you plan on using yours for???

I want to ask this exact same question, so I'll hijack this thread since it seems to have been abandoned. I want to use mine for meat, likely in large quantities but infrequently. say twice a year. and also vegetables, in small amounts in dribs and drabs all summer..
So what do people recomend.
