So far we have gotten Lettuce, Spinach, Onions, Cabbage, Strawberries, Blueberries and Beet Greens. Be getting more Cabbage, Potatoes, Onions, Beets, Cucumbers, Okra, Tomatoes, Peaches, Blackberries and more Strawberries.
No telling what else I'll plant.

Plant melons, Rock, and pumpkins! They get so big and have beautiful yields! When I was growing up, my Grandma would make a pot of half-runner beans and new potatoes, homemade chicken and noodles, cornbread and cantaloupe. And we felt like kings :-) The good, old meals are good for a reason-they give your body what it needs to be healthy, and are grown on the land. Food for body and spirit, too, when you harvest it yourself.

rock, dont forget Raspberries, I eat breakfast on the way down to do chores-and on the way back! Got to admit, I'm using the Cadet to go to the barn and back,(cause of my fall) but this way, I dont get into the 'chicks and tiggers" as my baby daughter used to say--(almost 60 years ago)

Watching the way most people around here live with always trying to do better than the Jones, I'd rather be poor. My kids used to wish we had more money but now they realize how much more what we do have means because we've worked so hard for it. They take pride in being able to do for ourselves, instead of throwing things away and buying new or hiring someone else to do it.
I'll take poor, any day. We're rich in all the ways that matter.
