Howdy everyone. I am having some issues with my 2012 jeep Wrangler front brakes. I have taken the wheel off(passenger side front) because it sounds like metal on metal when you stop. I found a dead cenieped but other than that no wear. I replaced the wheel and it still is making the sound. There is a shroud on the backside of the brake rotor. I think the wheel is rubbing on this? Is it possible? Sound when you are on the road is like a warped rotor disc. Can anyone on here give me an opinion?

the shield on the back of the rotor could sure be making your noise, just check and bend it out of the way if it is, but would likely not do it just when you stop if it were that, but it is easy to check, so you likely should
does it sound like grinding or chatter ? some people glue the break pads to the caliper with something easy to get off like silicone to get rid of the chatter
did you check your low break pad indicators, are they hitting ? (for most of the cases where people tell me of metal grinding, this is what was happening) you say there is no wear on the breaks, how thick is the break pad ? when did you last change them ?
did you check your wheel bearings ?
by the way, warped rotor is often diagnosed when you have uneven transfer of the break pad material to the rotor, machining it fixes the issue, so not many people spot what is really going on, but it is easier to fix than taking it all apart
