I ran out of time to plant my 2 year asparagus roots in the spring as the package says to do. Can I plant these in the fall?

My understanding is that you can plant them anytime you want to and I have done so before. Just do not expect anything to harvest this year or next year at least.
I think it is far better for them to be in the ground though than in their packages. |
