In the past few days, we have harvested 11 zucchini, 2 cucumbers, and a handful of green beans! I am so thankful, I was starting to become discouraged. Weeding, weeding, and more weeding, but nothing to show for it until recently. I am so grateful for what we have harvested so far. Hope everyone else's garden does well this year :-)

Hooray for you! Isn't it the best feeling ever to pick that first "whatever"? Today I picked my first early bush zucchini and saw noticeably large Italia peppers in the greenhouse. I can't wait until I'm up to my ears in produce, the canning equipment is eternally running and my kitchen is a permanent disaster. Yup- that will be success

Sometimes the weeds grow so much better that what I planted. It does give you a sense of accomplishment when you actually harvest something that you started from seed or a tiny little plant. Picked a bunch of cucumbers today and am canning sweet pickle relish tonight.

Besides herbs & greens (lettuce, spinach, swiss chard) I've harvested kohlrabi & cabbage. The paprika peppers are green, just waiting for them to ripen to red.

The peppers all have flowers now. I have hundreds of small tomatoes. I can't wait for them to ripen up . This is the year that I can everything that uses tomatoes.

So far we have only been harvesting salad greens, edible flowers, scallions, and some herbs from our garden. We had to stop the other day and harvest a bunch of striped gophers and chipmunks which have been stealing our strawberries and green tomatoes right off the plants!
I have some small yellow crookneck squash which I could have started picking yesterday, but decided to hold off for a few days and let them grow a bit larger.

The asparagus season is wrapping up. Had a tremendous crop and ate it almost everyday so you would think I would be sick of it. Nope. Miss it already! Also harvesting peas, onions, and broccoli. Beans are just starting to bloom. Going to start digging potatoes as we need them. The baby stage is the best anyway. The tomatoes are blooming and have a few green tomatoes hiding in the foliage. Waiting for the cucumbers to take off. Lettuce is still producing but will be ending soon just as the cabbage is heading out. I'm always amazed at the amount of food that comes out of the garden as it really isn't that big.

Kohlrabi is all that is ready here. I see flowers on my peppers and tomatoes, so they're comming... slowly Kohlrabi is ready here, too. My wife will eat them like an apple. We also mix them with cabbage to make kraut. Your post reminds me of what another Danish friend told me when we were his guest for several days in Saksild exactly 18 years ago today. (We celebrated the Fourth of July 1997 at Rebild and your queen was there.) My friend said that he would never eat a kohlrabi. Before WW2, his father was a potato farmer. When the Germans took over, they were forced to grow kohlrabi for them. Martin

I bought a couple of peach trees at a local farmers supply store a couple of months ago. They had little peaches forming when I bought them. Today I picked these.

This week I got 2 cukes, enough green beans for a meal and dug several new potatoes. One of the potatoes is about the size of my fist. Very happy! Can't wait for the tomatoes to ripen! Yum.

I have picked and canned all of my beets. Planted cucumbers where the beets were growing. Many of my pepper plants have peppers on them, but all of the plants are only about 12" tall. We have been eating swiss chard, most of my cabbage is gone, broccoli has been getting harvested little by little. Tomatoes are absolutely loaded. Started picking green beans 3 days ago. Picked two gallons the first day, 10 gallons second day, five gallons yesterday and about two gallons this morning before it started raining again.

The cucumbers are FINALLY starting to produce. What a weird, cool & wet year this has been! Yesterday it didn't even get into the 70's!
My 5 year old granddaughter & I have picked enough cucumbers to make 3 pints of dill pickles. Last year at this time I was harvesting around 50 cucumbers a day!
I also checked on the garlic. It is usually ready to harvest by mid-June. The greens are still quite green and scapes are just now ready for harvest. I dug a few rows and they are ready.
I'm hating having to spray myself down with bug spray to combat the mosquitoes laying in wait for me in the strawberry patch & asparagus ferns next to the garlic patch.

We just ate the first 2 ripe tomatoes yesterday for our noon meal. I've also harvested some new potatoes, onions, cabbage and peas. Just pulled out the pea wines and planted cucumbers there. Planted the summer squash where the potatoes were. The first planting of sweet corn will be ready in a few days. The green beans are about 10 inches tall now. I here ya on the mosquitoes. Nasty little varmints!! The stargazer lilies are in full bloom along with the zinnias day lilies and sunflowers. Oh the garden is a happy place.

We are in West Central AL and we have small green tomatoes, and our beans and peas are blooming. We got one squash off a vine and the rest turned moldy and DIED. We usually have a fair sized garden picked and halfway thru by now but first it was too cool and then too wet. Very thankful to see it growing.

I got fava beans today, tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse are now in flower. squahes are also in flower. We've had some new potatoes, and the first 4 sugarsnap peas! I'm watching our black and red currents, they're just starting to turn colour, the goosberries look full size but still as hard as bullets. So hard to wait, especialy as this is our first year here and I have no idea when anything will ripen!

I had a huge gooseberry harvest this year as well as red currants.

DH and DD picked a few wild raspberries a few days ago, and then I picked the first 6 raspberries from our cultivated patch yesterday. Hopefully in another week the berry harvest will be in full swing.
Picked the first 4 yellow summer squash and fixed them for supper a couple of nights ago. Nothing else is ready to harvest yet, although, I have not checked any of the potatoes.
We have loads and loads of green roma tomatoes on our plants; tons more yellow squash coming on; some peas; and a few tiny little cucumbers. Still harvesting lots of fresh herbs and salad greens, and a few tiny little strawberries when we can beat the chipmunks and striped gophers to them.
