I,m getting things a little more organized and I'm very excited. This morning I put 9 fryers, and 1 bag of livers(we like them better than chicken livers) into the freezer in a touch under 3 hours. This includes set-up, clean and cut-up,bagging, freezing, and clean-up of all my processing equipment also getting rid of the fur,and you know.

What kind of chickens do you have where you have to get rid of "the fur" after butchering???
I have not, lately, butchered birds in bulk so I am not sure if three hours is good, bad or indifferent. I do know that I can butcher, seal and clean up and get rid of "the fur" when dealing with a single deer in pretty much the same amount of time by myself. But, I have had a bit of practice.

Sorry for any confusion. Fryer rabbits 10 week old dutch.

Actually, it looks like more my bad than yours. I reread your post and now see the part where you said that you "like them better than chicken livers" (I do believe that I just skimmed that part in my first reading). So, obviously you were referring to butchering something other than chickens.
Like I said, more my bad than yours.

This is the rabbit forum you know! That's it Wendy, rub more salt into my wound!
Actually I did not know that this was the rabbit forum. I did not know until you mentioned it. I clicked on the "recent thread" button and saw this one about butchering. I was not smart enough to look and see what forum it is in.
I can not use the excuse that I posted late at night or anything since I posted in late afternoon. Though, I was tired from all of the work that I was doing outside. I guess I will have to pay more attention to that kind of thing in the future.
My apologies @hoosierhubby, not only did I not read your post correctly, I also did not even know what forum I was in when responding.
I wonder if I screwed up anything else lately...

Just kidding! I sometimes forget where I am posting too. It happens to us all. More to me the older I get!

Do you save the Hides for Tanning ? If not like I do, I just kill by breaking their neck, cut across the Back hide, pull both ways, pull hide off Back Legs, pull hide off Front Legs, cut Hide and Head off, cut Feet, Tail off and Gut. Very fast.
I use Liver, Lung and Hearts for Catfish Bait.

I'd like to save the hides, but haven't so far. I'll mention your method, Rockpile, to my husband. We have a backlog of bunnies to put in the freezer.
