What brand of sewing machine (s) do you have, what is your favorite?
I have too many! I have 2 singer treadles, a Singer301, 4 Bernina's, 2 old 730's, a 830, a 1010, and a Janome 6500. I use the Janome or the 830 most of the time and I really like the 301. I can't leave a poor unwanted machine somewhere, they were someone's pride and joy at one time, and they're still perfectly good. I like the 6500, but it is a computerized machine and I guess I don't trust it to always work!

I have a Necchi 535 that just recently went into retirement. It's what I learned to sew on and then my mom gave it to me when I got married. It needed some repair and a good tune up. The guy said it would be at least a month before he could get to it. My sweet dh bought me a Janome HD 3000(?) to use while the Necchi was being worked on. I've used the Janome since...and I can't imagine not sewing on it. I love, love, love it!!! The Necchi is in the bottom of a closet and one of my sons has sewn with it a bit but I think it will be dd's foe a future birthday. I also have my grandmother's machines both are Singers. I haven't been able to bring myself to sew on them since she was called Home. She would be heartbroken knowing her machines weren't in use but at the same time....one day I'll sew on them again, just not now.

My daily machine is a 1943 Singer 15-91 My portable going-to-class machine is a 1917 Singer 99K-10 (which means a fairly uncommon aluminum head) I have several others, including a couple of treadles, but these two are my favorites

I forgot I have a Janome 300E embroidery machine and 2 sergers, a Babylock and a Janome. The Babylock is older and good for a boat anchor--I keep thing I'll try to get it sew right, but I don't even want to give it away, it's such a pain!
Oh, and I have Singer Spartan, made in England during WWII. It's the size of the Featherweight, but very heavy. It sews a beautiful straight stitch.

Singer 301a, 401, 128. My new machines are mid 90s - a Pfaff 6091 and a Pfaff Hobbylock serger. I haven't used the 128 yet...tho' I did have it tuned up after I bought it. Just have to rewind those bobbins and re-oil. I love the stitch on the 301! It is such a pleasure to sew on - I can literally feed the fabric with the one hand in front of me, before the foot. No need to have the left hand behind the foot constantly correcting. The 401 just needs the cabinet refinished and it will be good to go. I found the small monogrammer for it, and am anxious to try it.

I have a Free parlor cabinet and I have a Free treadle base (that I put a Singer head on, as I didn't have the Free head). for comparison, have you ever treadled on a Singer? I think mine is downright clunky compared to the Free, but I've never met anyone else who's treadled on both to get their thoughts and see if it's just my perception...

My everyday is a Singer 401A, I have a singer treadle, not sure of the model number on it. I also have a "back up" Singer 401, and a Necchi (again not sure of the model number, it is buried in a closet and only drug out in emergencies)

I have a little brother I fixed via youtube from freecycle and a old singer in a table also rescued from freecycle - and a 1977 kenmore from the good will- I use the Kenmore at my Quilting group at church and the brother sits ontop of the singer in the table- I have another singer from my Step mom- that I need to get serviced and cleaned- it is from the late 80's I think

In fact, I've never really used the Free to make anything. Mostly played around with it, getting it cleaned up. Need to get a new belt for it. I purchased it in 1984 for the cabinet--I wanted to try and get my Singer into it. Didn't work out the way I wanted. I have the original manual and attachments for it along with a few bobbins.

One of my treadles came with the original puzzle box full of attachments. It was quite a deal for 40 bucks. The woman that owned her was so glad someone wanted her to actually sew. Our power was out for 13 days after a huge ice storm one time and I had tons of things I was working on. I decided then I needed a machine that would work all the time.

I have a treadle (unsure of the date or model) that I bought at a yard sale for $30 .. Haven't worked on it in years ..have a new belt for it am sure I need some bobbins needles and the manual...Need to get it working and use it .
Learned to sew my fist stiches on one just like it with my (step) Dad's mother..my grandma Cova.. I have the Singer Featherweight my (step) DAD bought as a wedding gift for my Mom when I was 2 yrs old . Was made to give it to my sister when DAD passed because my MOM said he was her REAL dad and it belonged to her . I had it for many years ..kept it working and used it almost every day .When sister gave it to me as a Christmas gift a few years ago she said it really belonged to me because I was HIS daughter as much as she was and he would have wanted to ME to have it.
That gift meant more to me than any other gift I can ever remember and because it was given with love from my baby sister it means even more ! The only problem was Mom had been messing with it and it doesn't work ..and is missing the foot feed ...so it is in its case waiting until my ship comes in and I can put it in the shop ..LOL
I have a Brother C5050 that I have at last gotten to at least sew a straight stich again .. But am still trying to get it to sew a zigzag stich ..
I also have another Brother machine that was given to my daughter that also does not work and will need to try to get it working ..

I accidentally have clicked the one at the bottom, but it is really for the next post. A little different than what we may be used to.

I have 3 sewing machines. I have a mid size Kenmore. It was made by Janome, but has the Kenmore name on it. I use it the most. I also have an old Singer. It was given to me by my mother-in-law. It sews like a dream, but is in a cabinet and takes up too much space to be set up right now. I also bought an old singer from a garage sale. It needs to be rewired. I just never have gotten around to it. I believe it is a 99- and I cannot remember the last 2 numbers, but it is black and very bare bones. I don't think it even has reverse.

I'm in the too many club too.
My main machine is a Janome Horizon 7700. I also have a Singer Futura XL550 (sewing and embroidery), Babylock Crafter's Choice, Singer 301A, Singer 221 Featherweight, Little "Kenny" Kenmore, another Kenmore (made by Janome), a Pfaff coverlock serger, an old Singer in a bentwood case, 2 treadles - one a Singer and the other not identified, and a boat anchor 3/4 Kenmore, an old White heavy duty...I think that's it. All in working order except for the unbranded treadle which only needs a belt and some cleaning.
I mostly do quilts, and I love piecing on the Singer 301A and the 221 Featherweight, quilt on the Janome 7700.

LOL MollyMcKee....me, too! I have even tried to hide my addiction by putting handcranks on top of treadles so no one realizes just how many I really have! The treadles are cleverly disguised in rooms that are not sewing rooms!

I'll admit it...I have a sweatshop in my basement. (I wish I knew where I put it. I actually have a photo of numerous small children gathered around my table, sewing on a multitude of antique Singers It does indeed look very sweatshop-ish lol)

I downsized and now only have 1. A Brother Beloved bought for me 4 or 5 years ago. I love how easy it is to sew. I do not like that it is a closed system and no way for me to do maintenance on it if it ever does break.

The nice thing about the older machines is you can work on them yourself. They are pretty simple, all metal, easy to get into. The new computerized machines need someone that knows computers as well as sewing machines.

Aftermidnite, I wish I lived closer, I'd get those machines running. You might be able to find the parts for your featherweight on ebay and fix it pretty cheaply.

Best of mine is a portable-cased Singer 201 that belonged to a flapper who always kept up to the moment. It's my channel machine, Dr. Who would be envious.
My mother bought a Bernina 1230 from a friend she quilted with, the friend wanted to upgrade to the next Bernina and wasn't shy with her regrets she let go of it. It's brought me up to speed too, it's The Way for precise stitching IMO. I do follow the recommended professional cleaning schedule, and it's never failed. It's still in its portable case too, a wonder for fitting all the gizmos inside. It circulates in the family until I call it home.
Best of all for me is Bernina's "Feetures" - really improved my seam techniques, and I'm Not Afraid of Binding, I'm Not Afraid...

I have two machines I use regularly , a Janome 11000(?) and a Janome 2139N? I also have a workhorse older Necchi that needs to visit a shop , and two older singers. I don't know the kind of Singers, they are both packed away in storage. I've never had the time to mess with much, one was left in a house I rented years ago and one belonged to my late MIL.
I also have 3 sergers that my sis got at a garage and brought to me. I don't know much about sergers except I need one. There is a New Home My Lock 203, a Bernina Bernette 004-D, and a White's Super Lock 216. These are older machines, but I hope to salvage at least good usable one out of the lot.

My main machine is a Janome MC9500 combo sewing/embroidery machine. I also have a Janome serger. I have a 1903 Singer treadle, a 1911 White treadle, a 1955 Singer 15-91 which I use for heavy duty/leather sewing and buttonholes, and a mid 80s Kenmore (built by Janome)...got it when most of my stuff was in storage in California and I was in Oklahoma, just never got rid of it. I'd still like a Featherweight. How can anyone have just one machine??

I have 3 Singer 403A's (2 in cabinets, 1 portable),a black Singer 301 longbed, a vintage New Home portable, and a vintage Sears sewing machine in a cabinet. I love old sewing machines, especially Singers. My favorite ? Right now, I would have to say it's the 301; sews a beautiful stitch and so easy to use ! Do I have too many sewing machines: yes. Would I buy another one: in a heartbeat !
