Ok I have two young Rabbits I thought both were young Does. I'm holding on to them for my Son which don't seem in no hurry to get them.
I thought they are old enough to Breed. I thought double check again. First one was a Buck, ok no babies from this one. Next one was a Doe, put her in with my Old Buck, he stuck her no problem.
First off I was wondering why she didn't breed with her Brother, my wife is thinking he wasn't old enough?
It seems it is going to be awhile before my Son is going to want them. I'm thinking if this Young Doe does Good Kidding couple times before Cold weather, I will keep her, give my Son the Old Doe and Young Buck. The Buck is out of the Old Doe, to me it wouldn't be any different than breeding the Old Buck with his Daughter?
Any thoughts?

How old were they? Usually they both mature by 4m but the doe shouldn't get bred before she makes weight much later. I have a 12 week buck I gave a chance to breed with an unrelated older doe, he wasn't ready and started looking for a teat on her instead. Siblings have the closest genes so are least recommended for breeding, for meat it doesn't matter though. But if it works it's line breeding and if it doesn't it's inbreeding, right?

She was a Good 5 months. She was good size.
Shoot I've been feeding Chickens for him, got to looking close today and looks like only one is a Pullet. So this isn't going to work either.

With my rabbits, they had to get to adult weight before there was any 'results' from their breeding. It took my Silver Fox and Champagnes ten months to get to adult weight on free fed pellets and hay. Are your young rabbits heavy enough?

My bf reminded me that the our rabbits didn't have kits until we left the males with the females for 3-4 days. I watch them for the first 10 minutes or so to make sure they didn't hurt each other. I did also threaten them with Barry White music if they didn't produce. Good Luck!

Sometimes there just isn't any good reason why they don't breed. It's possible he might have bred her when you weren't looking and she just didn't take, too. When will she be due if she took when you mated her with the senior buck?

Got another Old Doe bred I'm worried about, had a problem with Ear Mites, think I have it cleared up but she is due August 7.

Put olive oil in her ears. Make sure it gets into her ear drum as well as covers any scabs she might have in the outer ear. Kills mites, but won't harm her pregnancy.
