Taking care of our Sons Dog. Constantly pet me, oh pet me. Alarm goes off I'm getting you up. Chicken Liver or Gizzards, treat in the morning I really like it here. Yes I sleep with you.
Only Bad habit, when we are gone he messes up stuff looking out the windows.
Hard he is really a good Dog and is getting spoiled far more than he ever will at home. Me I don't want to get too attached to him because he is not my Dog and I don't need another Dog.

Rockpile Hey Rockpile, Kinda sounds like you are already! You've had him for awhile haven't you? Maybe it would be best in the long run if you did keep him? Are they really going to want him back? Take Care, Mari

Take Care, Mari One time they left him with me while they went on a trip. Was back for weeks. I figured I had another Dog. Then they finally came got him.
Thing is he is a good Dog and works extra hard for Loving. I'm not wanting to get too attached again because I know they will come back for him. Got one Dog I wasn't wanting but my Granddaughter gave her to me and I couldn't tell her no. Now she is family.

Well, I can't speak to not getting too attached, but his one bad habit seems like it has an easy fix. Just don't put anything between him and those windows, lol!

Ok don't know what to do. DS saying it don't look like he is going to sell his House. I asked what are you going to do with your Dog I don't really need him? Well I guess he will come back to us when we get back from Chicago.
Got to talking with DIL. She is the one that said she really didn't want me to keep the Dog because I don't want to give him back. Any way I was telling her how I have been spoiling him, he is such a good Dog just very insistent on attention. She says I can't give him all that. She goes on to say he has bit two Men and drawn Blood ?? Like I told her I know Dogs and there is no way this Dog ever bit anyone, maybe her other Dog but not this one. The other Dog is aggressive. She called me a liar.
I really feel I have no choice but to give him back but hate having him come back every so often and we get attached to each other again. My Heart isn't up to this and it can't be easy on the Dog. Truth I'm wanting one Dog once my Old Lab passes and this would be my Little Beagle so if me and my wife can get away we can.
DANG IT!!!!!

Rock, you know, of course, you could have refused to keep that dog again. You could simply have told them you get to attached to it and, if you kept him again, you would not want them to take it back. Maybe that would have worked! Maybe not! But at least you wouldn't sound so helpless in the situation.

Dog is suppose to belong to my GS. The DIL does things all the time concerning Dogs that really upset me. Well other things too.

Just tell them the dog is staying with you, if that's what you want. Your son can have supervised visitation, lol.

So, @rockpile, is he staying? I've seen you post about giving all the animals back to your son, but I think you are really attached to this guy.

Ok Son said he didn't think his house was going to sell yet. So I asked when he wants his Dog back? He says after he gets back from Chicago. Well seems while he was in Chicago, gets a call someone wanting to look at the house.
So who knows! My wife did say they probably signed a 6 months Contract with Real Estate Agent, so shouldn't be that long. I can't be taking another Dog, no matter how attached I am.

Dang people say they want their Dog back but says he is a Biter. I've seen Dogs that Bite and I just can't believe it out of this Dog. If he did they had to be hurting him.

If you're that attached to the little guy, I would talk to your son about keeping him. Doesn't sound like it would be too much extra work, and he is really cute!
After the comment about if you couldn't take the dog they were going to have it put down, I wouldn't return him even if they wanted him. A person who loves his dog wouldn't even consider such a thing. It isn't fair of them to expect you to keep him for prolonged periods and not get attached.
Just my 2 cents. I hope it all works out.
