Poor Bob woke up this morning in a state. Eyes fully dilated, slight drooling, loss of balance, disorientation. She was fine last night at 11. I think she may have eaten poisoned prey, She's on her way to the vet now.
Her kittens are 5 weeks old. Dax's 2 are a week younger and they've been co-mothering, so they'll be ok, but I really hope sweet little Bob pulls through.

She is at the vet for the night, but lived through the day (this was in high doubt this morning) and she began to respond to her environment and ate.
Now, eating is HUGE because, well, for one, she was so bad off when we brought her in, the vet thought she was going to die, her temp was 5 degrees too low and unresponsive is ... bad is an understatement. Then, with her neurological signs, and the fact that she's not been here a year, and you can't be 100 percent sure about this without at least a year's worth of medical history, and it's huge prevalence in this area, they were worried it was rabies.
But, they got her temp up and hit her with everything in the medicine chest and she began to respond and eat, which totally rules that out. They are thinking antifreeze poisoning and are hopeful we caught it in time. If shed lives through the night she has a good chance to recover.

Still thinking about her. We lost one to suspected antifreeze poisoning - we were heartbroken. Hoping Bob continues to improve.

Just got off the phone with the vet. Bob is perky, eating and can come home! They are still not entirely sure just what was going on, but since she clearly responded to at least one of the treatments, we're going to finish the course of any that need a course. The important thing is she's ok.

Bob is home! She saw home, leapt out of Dh's arms, ran into the house, kissed her kittens, then had a meal and a looooong drink. Official diagnosis: No clue. But they loaded her up with IV antibiotics and one of the treatments clearly worked. I am $104 poorer and one Bob Cat richer

^^This!^^ So glad to hear Bob Cat is okay, and home with her kittens. $104 is a small price to pay for that.

Only $104?!! You have a great vet! Glad Bob is better! LOL, I think they gave me the "We still have no idea what was wrong with her, but Yay!" discount. They are really good to me over stuff like this because they appreciate that I do rescue and that I take care of "worthless" animals like cats. Bob is still doing great and her little fuzzballs are old enough to be EVERYWHERE. I'll get updated pictures of kitty cuteness soon.
