He sounds like he'll be a really awesome dog for someone, and he sure is handsome! Best of luck, and good for you guys for trying to find him the right match. I hate to see a dog end up ignored in a yard or something because people think keeping them is the ultimate good and rehoming the ultimate evil

Call a border collie rescue. How quickly he gets adopted would depend on how many border collies there are in your area. He may not be a herder, but many people use them in agility and obedience, also as service dogs. What he has going for him: well cared for, used to being in a house, good with kids and other animals, housebroken (?), healthy.

I agree with calling a Border Collie rescue group. He would at least go to someone who knows the breed! I do wish you the best, that isn't an easy situation ever.
