I have a Mirro pressure canner that finally had to have the old gray, silicone gasket replaced. The problem is the new black rubber gaskets don't seal tight and the jars leak fluid!!!! I have tried two new ones. Had the same problem with my little canner. The grey gaskets are not to be found. At least I have not found any after several hours of googling!!! Does anyone hve a source for really good gaskets? I know this is a problem other canners have had but I have not found any gret answers.

I replaced mine a while back w/black one...I got it at ace. I did soak it in warm water a couple days before I used it.

Thanks for the link, it looks like some of them are gray, which indicates they are silicone. None of the gray ones fit my canner but it might be worth a call.

You need to check the age of your canner. I had one with the gray gasket and they are not to be found anywhere. I checked for months. I finally broke down and bought the black ones. I don't like them as well, but they get the job done.
Have you tried rubbing both sides with a bit of oil? I just put a bit on a paper towel and wrap it around the gasket and pull it through to coat it.
