I have saved, and traded seeds for years, storing dry in the freezer. nothing has failed to germinate. This year, in addition to my raised beds, I have a Large place plowed up--and I'm going to take every seed I have and plant them! You name it--it will be there! I will mark everyone,n and hope the marker stays where it belongs--But this will give a fresh start--and I can look at the catalogs every spring, and decide if I want! I can save new seeds from anything I especially love--and my children wont have to cope with a freezer full of seeds, if one day I'm not here!

ceresone, I, too, have accumulated many, many packets of seeds over the years. Lately I have been doing germination tests in my greenhouse to find out which are still viable. And, most of them are! Planting more of them this year will help reduce the stash, but I have also started saving seeds from my garden, and I think I save a LOT more than I plant. sigh. We seed savers are almost as bad as the fabric folks, lol. But, our seeds at least, take up less space.

I had so many varieties of tomatoes That I had to give some away. I couldn't have planted them all in my lifetime. But the my seed drawer looked rather empty so I ordered more. Sheesh. there are just do many varieties to try.
Good luck with that huge garden this year.

My problem is that I cannot abide the poor little orphan seed packets at the end of the season. I lovingly take them home, wrap up in freezer bags, and .... promptly forget about them. Then, when I get out all the seeds, and sit down to sort through them and plan... Well, I think I need a larger table, and perhaps a gardening staff like they had on the old British estates during Victoria's reign.

I bought some plastic drawers. I keep my seeds there behind little files so I know what's where. Then there's that misc file at the front.... The drawers stack and fit neatly in my extra fridge. The only thing that didn't germinate this year were some Tsar Kolokov tomatoes....one of my favorites, of course.

When we moved to our new place I brought a shopping bag full of seeds with me. To my surprise, the freezer in the back room here was full of seeds. Fun part is there were a bunch of varieties in the freezer I had never tried before. Bonus!

Still time to start some for your part of the world.
