If anyone is in western NY, check out the Finger Lakes Fiber Arts Festival this weekend. It's not Rhinebeck, we have room to breathe at our festival. Still a full day's worth of vendors and displays to check out. I'll be at the rare breeds display in Barn B most of both days. www.gvhg.org/fiber-fest/

I didn't get to go to any fiber festivals this year. I'm pretty sad about it but I still have money in my pocket. And a bedroom full of fibers.

... There's also the sit & spin area, if you just want to be social while working with whatever you brought.

We did pretty well. It was an educational display, no sales, but we ran out of free fiber samples midway through the second day, gave out about half the lamb cookbooks. Did lots of demos and talking to folk. We had a last minute snafu with the live animal display, but we got a decent lock display going from contributions from vendors, and several shepherds expressed an interest in participating next year. Our location was less than ideal, at the far end of the show, but I think we did well considering.
