You should be able to replace the seal/seat/rubber, depending on the model. Look up the make and figure out the model# and find a break down / parts list. Then you can go from there and figure out how best to fix it. You shouldn't have to replace the whole thing..

Thanks. Its from tsc ,kept the paperwork but don't remember where lol. I just remember reading it and it was saying how great it was that u dont have to dig the whole thing up,just replace the insides from the top should it ever fail.... We are just not sure which part would make it leak,or if the "insides"need replaced. Usually when u ask at tsc, nobody knows anything! But I'll go there and get the make ...hopefully still the same, and research it more.

Once you know that you can go and look on that makers site and then look under "ground hydrants" etc and figure out what model it is. well imagine that TSC doesn't list the manufacturer.. But they do carry a repair kit. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/water-source-hydrant-repair-kit?cm_vc=-10005

Yep, you might be able to move the rod down just a bit to tighten the rubber seal at the bottom, if not, replacing it with a new seal should be easy enough. Just disassemble the unit from the top of the pipe, you most likely won't even have to disassemble the handle assembly.

When is it leaking? If it is leaking when using it tighten the packing nut around the stem. If it is leaking when turned off you need to adjust it where the handle linkage is attached to the stem, usually a little square headed bolt, loosen and raise the connector up the stem a bit and tighten.

I am wondering now if he has it mixed up with my other one ,he tightened it bf bc it always freezes at the handle but it didnt help. He never waters the animals ,he might've got them mixed up,maybe tightening it will fix it .

Go to Youtube and watch some of the videos on how they work and how to repair. Very EZ. Mine are just a simple O-ring. Keep a few extra on hand, most hardware stores carry selections of O rings. Take it in and match it up.
