I'm new to Michigan, and I know it can't last, but the weather has been just glorious! Stacking wood and lasagna-ing for next year's garden has been lovely in the sun and mild temps. Best, Kathy

The weather has been amazing here, too! I can't believe it's November - 70 degrees in northern Wisconsin? Regardless - I'll take it, thank you very much!
Enjoy that beautiful weather!

Yes, it's like that here in SWPA, too! Who would have thought one of the nicest days of the year would be in November?! Nearly 80 degrees and sunny yesterday!

There are several broccoli plants which bolted to flowers. I was going to chop them down 3 days ago until I saw insect activity. The insects were honeybees. During peak times, at least 3 or 4 working the flowers. They were a surprise since they've only been legal in this city for about 3 weeks. Whoever got them, I'm more than happy to help that swarm get started. Today will be their last chance this year as the high of 68º will be replaced with 48º tomorrow.

Our weather in Ohio has been beautiful too, with lots of bee activity. My chickens much prefer this to the cool, rainy spring they grew up in!

Is this climate change?
The present Administration evidently believes climate change is bad. Is different bad? There has been a whole lot of cultural and social change in my life. When I start to mention my concerns people tell me to just get use to it.
Seems like the present Administration would be more tolerant of weather diversity.

One effect of the melting ice has been newly opened sea passages and fresh access to resources.
"Until 20 or so years ago, (the Arctic) was completely unknown and unmarked territory," Iceland's President Olafur Grimsson told an Arctic Circle Forum in Singapore on Thursday. "It is as if Africa suddenly appeared on our radar screen."
Grimsson cited resources that included rare metals and minerals, oil and gas, as well as "extraordinarily rich" renewable energy sources such as geothermal and wind power.
