Three different weather forecasters predicted that our area, would be the hardest hit by a snow front coming through the area from early Saturday morning until 7am on Sunday. All of them predicted that we would be receiving between 5-6", while areas 20-30 miles north, south, east and west of us would be getting 4-6" and even less 20-40 miles further out. By 8:30am today, there was over 2" already that had accumulated and was still coming down strong. By noon, we'd already received the max that we'd be told to expect.....and it was still coming down. Now, it is just past 4:00pm and we have over a foot of the white, sticky stuff....and it is STILL coming down!!! The only good thing is that they also predicted that it wouldn't be staying around for long.....if you can believe them that is; I don't, their batting averages suck big time. I'm taking orders on freshly wrapped packages that I'll express ship overnight; just $19.99 for everything that can be jammed into a medium sized USPS box. Cash only.

Sort of reminds me of the 'good ol' days' pre satellite where weather was general a surprise.

Closing in on 16 inches so far..... only 12 more hours to go....that is, IF we are to believe that part as well.
Who really knows when it will end?
Already 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT that was originally predicted.

Well it's finally stopped coming down....so if that keeps on track, at least there's the comfort of knowing we won't be getting anymore for the next 8 hours....

Sorry CopperKid, how is one suppose to plan if they can't trust , did the baby goats stay in barn?

No....I don't 'allow' the goats access into the barn, as that is where ALL the feed for not only them, but my fowl as well and if they get into it *(and they do try their darndest to), it's not good. They've got their own shelters consisting of individual dogaloo huts, an inverted fiberglass large satellite dish and a homemade steel panel building that use to house our pigs; big enough for everyone to get in out of the weather..... oh and almost forgot the old 275 gallon fuel oil tank with a goat sized hole cut into one end. I've found a number of them stuffed in there before. Although for awhile after they were weaned, I'd hear little goat hoofs outside the back porch area and find them up as close to Daddy as he would allow....when he opened the door, sometimes they'd both try and pop inside to stay, but got rudely shoved back out again.
They'll all be fine....until kidding time rolls around in the next month or so.
