Anyone done it? I want to knit lace curtains for my front window. I found a few websites that sell linen thread, but I don’t know what the weight is as they present the items as thread, not yarn. Anyway, after doing some research on Ravelry I found a shop in Lithuania and took the plunge. Very cheap, but I think it may be thread. I will know soon enough.
So, I know enough to knit a swatch, wash it and dry it before checking the gauge. I hope the thread/yarn is plied because linen has a bias. Even so, I may be able to conquer the bias because I’ll be knitting lace, not stockinette.
Any stories on knitting with linen?

I've knit linen that I've spun. It is very stiff at first but softens up nicely

It finely came! I got a card from the P.O. on Monday that nobody was home to sign for it. I was home, must not have heard her. So, Tuesday it is snowing and snowing and I’m thinking I’ll have to shovel the drive in order to get out and drive on the slippery roads. The P.O. is only open for two hours early morning and two hours in the afternoon, so I waited for the afternoon and called. I convinced her that I could leave the signed card in the mailbox. So, yesterday I put the card in a zip lock bag with gift wrapped soap for the Post Mistress and the mail lady each.
It’s soaking now. Hurry! Hurry!
I was thinking of growing flax next summer. How many seeds would I have to plant to get enough to do something with?
