Here in central Illinois we are blessed to have a stand of maple trees in the area called Funks Grove. The Sugar Grove Nature Center is sort of separate in that it does programs and handles tours. The first weekend of March I get to help in one of the programs. One of my dear friends is an excellent & accomplished cook & baker. She has recipes that are listed on the Sugar Grove Nature Center site using the sirup and the maple sugar. She makes these foods and I help her serve them to the people in the groups going through the programs that weekend. Part of that program is letting everyone place a tap in the trees. It is a special place. Check out the recipes. ETA--I tried to list the actual web site but when I checked to see if it took you there, it came up as error. Sorry, I don't know how to get it to work right, but if you're interested just type it in the search.

Very cool! There are some amazing recipes out there. Combinations I wouldn't have dreamed of can all be found online....isn't the internet a great place??

Yes, oh thank you for putting it there. And sorry, I just got on today and saw you had done that speckledpup. Yes, the internet can be a great place, (just look at this site) but better still, I know the woman who put some these particular recipes together & she is a great friend. Again, thanks.
